Above the cloud

This was the incredible view from the ski piste at Les Chaux this morning. The runs were in excellent condition and we had a great couple of hours skiing then headed home as the crowds arrived. The extra shows the view in the other direction.

Being locals we knew were to go to park and avoid the cable cars to get up the mountain. The car parks and roads were chaotic as it appeared that everyone with a pair of skis from neighboring cantons decided to come here. Many complaints about people not wearing masks in the queues for chairlifts. The lift attendants were getting upset as it’s their jobs that will be lost if the resorts close. The avalanche risk was very high but people still took great risks skiing off piste.My son saw a big one come down, set off by a skier. Luckily, the man who was caught in it survived.
