Distanced Birthday

Today is my nephew's 3rd birthday. Jack's dinosaur crazy and knows an incredible amount about them. We had a celebratory pancake and Christmas crackers breakfast in his honour. We also made a birthday cake for him later in the day. The pancakes were a huge hit with the kids; oat, banana, cinnamon, honey and pomegranate - very tasty. 
We headed out for a walk late morning. It was so so good to wander along together, collect rosemary, admire the views...a lot of fun. Then on to a beach for a simple picnic and a bit of stone throwing.
Home for a film and cake-baking. A good Saturday together. 

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Jack! Full of fun and mischief.
2) The joy of celebrations, even if they're not our own. I think it helps the cousins feel close to each other.
3) Beautiful clean, fresh, air.
