Eat Your Greens

Just because he could the forester planted a Kamo Kamo  plant and now we are harvesting them.  It is the large green vegetable in the middle.  I hadn't thought about their origin but because they have a Maori name I thought they were a native plant.  I was wrong they are a type of squash introduced by the early European settlers and quickly became a staple food for Maori.
