1906 forgotten letters

Today I decided to tackle several boxes my mother had kept containing family photos and correspondence from the late 19th century onwards. It feels a little daunting but I have put it off for long enough.

I found this 1906 letter addressed to my grandmother when she was 25 and engaged, but not married. I believe it is from one of her cousins. I was initially surprised and amused at the bluntness of the correspondence but then I remembered some of the old family stories of the characters in my family. It seems that in some cases graciousness was a thin veneer. We used to laugh a lot when my father and grandmother told us stories of family interactions.
