Derelict desk

This seriously derelict desk has a backdrop by street artist Crisp. This work is titled Back Fence Battles.

My extras are the young channel bill cuckoo. Its incessant squawking for its host parents, who are half its size, to give it ever more food is insufferable. I wonder if it would disrupt the balance of nature if host birds got a genetic mutation to enable them to distinguish between their own eggs and someone else's. Every year we see magpies and currawongs who've been exploited by cuckoos being run ragged trying to feed their massive charges.
