Honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum)
Deciding today should be an outdoor blip I wandered hopefully round the garden with the camera. Down in Clickychick's woodland garden I spotted the first signs of spring. Near the table and chairs we have a Honeysuckle rambling up through a Yew. It provides a lovely scent and splashes of light colour against the dark when in flower.
I was surprised to see the buds swelling and clearly starting to grow. I have blipped the buds before but they have always been in February. A little sign of better things to come, much appreciated in these dark days. Dark both weatherwise and pandemic wise.
We just had to have this particular variety when we saw it. The variety?
"Sweet Sue".
