Meet my new friend

This machine was delivered this morning, whilst I was out on a morning run.

Although he looks happy, it really is the face of boredom. Apart from running, walking and a bit of reading, I have nothing better to do than wash carpets. Actually,  as you can probably guess from this photo taken in the spare room, I don't have wall to wall  carpets, but I do have some very large rugs and this machine can also be used on hard floors, so I can use it on the kitchen floor tiles as well as the rugs. 

I hope it is going to prove useful, and not turn out to be little more than an expensive bucket!
