..."This Is What Happens..."

...When we haven't had much rain - since July.. No, we don't really live in a desert, we're near the river and we're surrounded by beautiful green vines and citrus trees, but everything needs a little rainwater now and then..

Above is just what can happen when a spoiled succulent cacti (variety not sure of ) - suffers on a couple of baking hot days even though watered..

They're supposed to survive in the dry aren't they, but some of our days have been very warm, definitely in contrast to elsewhere throughout Australia...
But the cacti shall survive OK, it just needs a little trim back, like some of the roses which have also had their petals burnt and are already showing us just what survivors they are in the heat, with their beautiful new blooms..

And regardless, our gardens are still a picture..and we know when it does rain - the lawns shall keep us busy mowing - they grow very quickly and our Landfill shall be very busy indeed just with lawn cuttings.
But - it is so nice to experience the beautiful balmy warmer weather here, as we know, pretty soon our Autumn and Winter shall be on our doorstep, and so we make the most of our warm days..
