Silly Saturday ...
... cold weather walks.
Even though it was cold today ... the thermometer showed low 40's but it sure didn't feel like it ... we still went out for a walk. We actually went to both Plainfield Rail Trail and Jacobsburg State Park.
We started our walk at Plainfield where we did our normal walk up to a certain location and then back. We encountered lots of people today ... including this couple and their dogs and a young boy on his scooter. The young boy was quite far ahead of his parents (out of their line of sight) and as we got closer we could hear them tell him that he shouldn't go out of their sight like he did. Smart parents ... silly kid!
Richard had recently read that Jacobsburg had received a significant donation of bird seed and I wanted to see if they had any out today. So after our walk at Plainfield we made the very short drive to that park. We immediately went to the bird blind as that's where we thought they would have put out some seed. There are bird feeders as well as a large feeding table by the bird blind. All was well stocked! I hope they don't use all that bird seed up too fast! There was also a very silly set up that I'm hoping will still be there on another day so that I can use it for a Silly Saturday in the future.
The birds in my collage were taken in the bird blind and are a female Downy woodpecker (upper left) and a Tufted Titmouse (upper right).
We returned home after Jacobsburg as we were getting cold by then. Once home we settled in for the night ... watching the NFL playoff games.
