Egrets ... (I’ve Seen A Few)

We took advantage of the dry weather to cycle out to the nature reserve at Ham Wall. Although there were quite a few people out exercising, it was very peaceful and, judging by the number of birds around, the wildlife was enjoying the quieter conditions too.

There were four egrets fishing on this same stretch of water by one of the hides, including this Great White and this smaller one, which I think might have been its youngster, rather than a Little Egret. Great Whites were reintroduced to the reserve a few years back and it’s been a real success story.
