Blue Monday
Today, in the northern hemisphere is often described as the “lowest” day of the year : Blue Monday. The mental health charity, Samaritans, have rebranded today as “Brew Monday” - a chance to reach out and have a cuppa and a chat. It’s always good to talk even if that conversation, at the moment, has to be a virtual one.
We helped out with an hour’s home schooling support again this morning. It is great to play our small part in this national emergency and helps us to appreciate, at first hand, some of the challenges home schooling creates for parents, pupils and most importantly teachers and assistants. I wonder how many of our government ministers have actually tried doing home schooling properly themselves?
There was a blue hue to the sky this afternoon as we walked on the surf line. T picked up a full bag of “flotsam” - mostly sanitary products that the recent flooding has fast-tracked into the sea.
T was happy to see one of her former pupils featuring prominently as the director of a TV documentary this evening. She taught him to read and write over 40 years ago!
