We thought we’d have a brisk 3 mile road walk this morning, to make a change from the mud, ice, snow etc. So we went through the village, up Garleigh, along to Whitton, down Cemetery Bank, over the footbridge (the river was swollen) where I did the blip, then home via Gravely Bank. We met Marian and Larry then Andrew - not many people were out as by the time we were half way round the rain was on.

Friend Val had a turn when out walking last week and felt too bad to walk the last 50 yards home so Ray left her sitting on a wall and got the car for her. She’s had this before and improves with rest. This time after 5 days she still had a rapid uneven pulse. She resists going to the GP as she went once and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Anyway they found this time she has atrial fibrillation like Mr C and is now on blood thinners. I hope she won’t lose confidence for walking. Her older brother had a stent fitted a couple of weeks ago.

#2 daughter has found a coat she’d like me to knit for her birthday. (On 10 February!) It’s in cotton so it won’t be cosy. It’ll cost £150 for the materials. I’ve asked her if she wants it next year or the year after. I think she’s trying to keep me busy in lockdown.

Only one more day of 45 but we’ll not have heard the last of him
