How Did That Happen?

I slept in until 8 AM this morning, so unlike me! I decided I'd better get out for some groceries. No breakfast. Scraped the windshield. Headed directly to my grocery store. 

As usual, the grocery store was very quiet in the early hours. I finished up in quick time, so I thought I could treat myself to a drive-thru breakfast before heading home. I whisked through Tim Horton's for a croissant, a coffee and some omelette bites. 

At the last corner on my route home, I saw a police car and a very large tow truck. As I edged up to the light to make my turn, I looked down into the gulley below the road to see the object of their attention. This is at the bottom of my hill, directly below my house. It is a mystery what has happened here. I heard no sirens in the night. I hope the occupants walked away from this. 

P.S. I just checked my security cameras  and discovered I had a coyote at my front door this morning at 5 AM.
