Friendly Chaffinch

A long day in the study, starting in the dark and finishing the same way.  Outbreaks in local businesses seem to be escalating and I spent much of the day working with them to make sure their control measures were in place.  While many cases were associated with the Christmas period at home, there is still that nagging doubt that spread is also happening in the workplace.  After all it is one of the few places where household mixing still take place.

In an odd moment of relaxation I noticed this chaffinch grazing in the local apple tree.  I'm not quite sure what it was finding but it assiduously ignored the feeder just a foot or so below.  Made for a more natural image anyway.
