Pinboard #9 (Wednesday 20th January 2021)

This pinboard follows rather hard on the heels of the last, but having looked at it for a couple of days I was already out of love with it, and decided it needed to be replaced with something more akin to my tastes. This board looks at the Jamaican reggae scene of whom Bob Marley and the Wailers with Peter Tosh were by far the most successful, and the British ska and blu-beat revival as headed by 2-Tone in Coventry.
Rico was a Cuban trombonist based in Jamaica who played on many ska records before relocating to Britain in 1961, recording with Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, the Specials and others, whilst Pauline Black was front woman for the Selecter (although the record here is not in a reggae vein at all).
Let today's Inauguration herald a turn in world wide affairs. At least we are finally unburdened of Trump.
