Diversion

I had telephone consultations this morning which kept me occupied for a few hours.

I was a bit preoccupied by what I was going to do afterwards.
Thankfully, an early morning conversation with a friend encouraged me to plan rather than procrastinate.

I made spaghetti bolognaise, I tramped through the mud and glaur for 4.5 miles with daughter and dogs, I watched 4 years of darkness in America metamorphose into light (Lady Gaga, oh my word! Amanda Gorman, spellbinding wordsmith...), I did some lino-cutting, and I tackled a mosaic kit my early morning friend sent me for my birthday.

Eldest son braved the supermarket on his way home from work and presented me with a lovely bottle of Albariño...

What set out to be a complete washout today, evolved to be OK, thanks to a good friend with gentle words and a big heart, an historical change, a thoughtful son, a persuasive daughter, and some grit and determination.

Middle son messaged on his break from the Covid-19 ward. Sounds grim. Keep doing what you're told. Please!
