Flat Days

Tonight some good friends Mick & Tracy and their children Lauren and Seth, dropped in to see us. We had a chilled evening and a barbeque and it was great to catch up with them, as they live so far away we don't get to see them that often.

The reason for the pic is that Mick makes these long skate decks. He built his own press and sourced the right sort of plywood to get the best performance. I've had mine over a year and have yet to fit trucks and wheels. It's so beautifully made that I feel it'd be a shame to use it. That and the fact that I'm hopeless on a skateboard.

Maybe I should get some practice.
