I love all kinds of knitting, but there is something extra-satisfying about the precision and rules of Fair Isle colourwork. It’s built up stitch by stitch, like painting with dots, then, all of a sudden, the pattern appears. The downside of all that geometry and symmetry is that every tiny mistake of stitch or tension shows up horribly.
