Washed Water
In Haigh Plantations, there were lots of small mining operations in the C18/C19 which had underground water channelled away by means of The Great Haigh Sough, which was called Yellow River ( because of the colour of the impurities), as it ran towards the main River Douglas.
No more, as a series of pumps and ‘washing’ reservoirs clean the water before flushing it into the Douglas. This artificial waterfall is the last process in the operation!
