Bursting Forth
Feeling a bit low this morning it was lovely to see the sunshine lighting up the cold frames for a few minutes and the crocus flowers beginning to open. The sun is slowly getting higher in the sky, so more of it in the garden and more warmth in the frames. A whole host of flowers today, this one is a little special, Crocus mediotauricus, the type collection bearing the collection number HKEP 0112. HKEP stands for Helmut Kerndorff and Erich Pasche, German crocus experts. Only a couple of days ago I showed Crocus kerndorffiorum, named after HK.
A productive day for both of us. I managed almost four hours decorating at work while Jamie and Tim were shopping and baking. Birthday buns for a friend today and another excellent Brioche loaf.
