wings of a yellow crowned night heron
I had only taken a few photos of this night heron when he decided he wanted to go to the other side of the canal. An extra photo shows where he landed and what he looks like. :0) This is not the most common bird we see in our canal on the sw Florida coast. We often (most every day) see Little Blue Herons, Great Blue Herons, Great White Egrets and lately, Juvenile Little Blue Herons (white). I have seen the Yellow Crowned Night Heron out on the river some, and infrequently in our canal. He visits certain times of the year Steve says.... I am so happy we get to see all of these birds (and more!) close up & so frequently....wow!
