Turnhouse Hill

It was a glorious winter’s day so we went up to Bonaly and parked before heading up towards the reservoir. Low down the snow was a bit icy and not too deep but as we approached the reservoir the snow was much deeper and it was great that others had broken trail. We went round towards Phantom’s Cleugh where the blip was taken looking down towards Turnhouse Hill where there had been a spectacular avalanche yesterday on the southern slopes. We then went back a little towards the reservoir before following the track up Capelaw Hill where we were up in the Pentlands’ jet stream and it was much colder. The extra was taken as we walked along the ridge towards Allermuir with the snow ridges in the foreground.

Best on black.
