MARGUERITE DAISY: ARGYRANTHEMUM frutescans
Today, while walking with Angus, I found these tiny flowers blooming as if they did not know it is January.
On this walk, I was thinking about the amazing response to Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb,” she recited at
the Biden/Harris Inauguration.
Many years ago I read that poetry bypasses our brain & goes right to our heart. It allows us to feel what the poem means.
This is exactly what happened to many of us who heard it at the Inauguration. We felt her message in a profound way.
“What can poetry do?
Lift the spirit of a nation.
What can a poet do?
Shine a light, in language
That maps a path forward.”
