On the hunt again...
Lockdown 3.0 Day #19
We have had sun, snow, rain and sleet this morning - that really wet stuff that just leaves puddles all over the place. We've not ventured out yet, but may do so this afternoon depending on the weather.
Whilst I was doing the hoovering in the upstairs bedrooms, I looked out of the window and thought "that's a lot of birds" as we had pigeons, doves, blackbirds, chaffinches, robins and sparrows in both our and next doors gardens. Then all of sudden they all scattered as this sparrowhawk swooped through our garden and then, unsuccessful with a catch, ended up sitting in the tree with all the feeders in next door. I ran downstairs grabbed my camera and stood watching it for a couple of minutes. It wasn't for moving, just sitting there scanning the garden for it's next meal. After about 5 minutes she flew onto the dividing fence and sat there for a few seconds before finally sitting on the rear fence for a minute before giving it up as a bad job and flying off.
I also planted some seeds today - a handful of free chilli seeds from my Gardener's World magazine subscription, a tray of antirrhinums and a few toilet roll tubes of sweet peas. And I have next months seeds already planned as well :) If you can't garden outdoors, then the next best thing is gardening indoors!
