Snow clouds
Friday
We had to be up and out fairly early. The car was covered in ice so we had to wait for it to melt before setting off to Dingwall to get our eyes tested. We parked the car at David’s and walked up the High Street with him to Specsavers. My appointment was first so I went in and was seen straight away. We had paid to have a test on the new machine that uses lasers to look at your eyes.Really interesting to see the photos afterwards. No problems which was a relief as I’ve had a few floaters but just have to put up with them , an age thing ! I was in need of new glasses as my others are old, bent and scratched. I tried on a few pairs, having to put them in a tray afterwards so that they could be cleaned. They’ll be ready next Friday.
Met David outside again and had a bacon roll and coffee from Dees. It started to get really cold so said goodbye to David and Mike popped to Tesco to get some food while I waited in the car.We were going to get some Haggis from the butchers but there was a massive queue. Went to the tip to get rid of some old batteries and then drove over tge heights to Strathpeffer.Quite abit of snow and great views of a snow covered Ben Wyvis. This view is towards the cats back with a snow storm approaching. We went to Loch Kinellan for a walk but as soon as we arrived the snow started falling so we just had a quick look at the frozen Loch and then went home.
Heavy snow in the afternoon which laid and the temperature dropped to below -2.
