White Mountains New Hampshire
Today was an early start as we headed north for a day in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The plan was to take in some great mountain vistas and avoid all the skiers that invade the area from Boston. It was really windy, cold with temperatures around 8F and low cloud so not the best conditions but it had snowed a bit. Enough of the excuses, we snowshoed and used the microspikes as we watched ice climbers in the Flume Gorge, Snowmobiles in The Basin and fabulous heavy snow at the Kancamagus Pass.
I have posted some extras so you can get an idea of what we saw. For the ice climbing you will have to look for the climber top right in the extra. The belay line gives you a clue of where to look.
