Misty

I decided to walk Ruby down to the playing field where I hoped it wouldn’t be quite as muddy and busy as the common. It was still fairly muddy but not as bad as the common would have been.

It had been sunny first thing but it got quite misty before we went out mid morning and the sun reappeared during the afternoon. The trees in the distance are on the common.

We all met up on zoom this evening and we were all quizzed out from the first lockdown so Mr C made up a challenge game. He had asked us to record ourselves singing/acting to the Friends theme, including claps in the right place. Lucy is not the most confident at performing tasks, and I have to say neither am I and as she worked all day yesterday we didn’t film it then and today she has been doing school work all afternoon ( there really isn’t any let up for school staff at the moment). So we decided to forfeit that round and also Sim had been working all day so they both forfeited too. However, Bex & Mo and Josh & Natalie all did a wonderful performance and got to share the points. We then had to pick who we thought would win and would get points if we were correct, we chose Josh & Natalie. Then we had 15 minutes to make a model of the Eiffel Tower using any household objects. We have a small heated airer that we propped up on piles of books for the feet and body of the tower and finished off with 4 tubes of wrapping paper for the pointy bit. A small string of lights were added at the end. We didn’t win that round but didn’t come last either. Onto a scavenger hunt to find several items that Mr C had given us to find. The funniest part was Lucy looking for a scandal. We have a book On this day... which lists different events over the years and I suggested she looked up the Profumo affair (I don’t know why but that’s what came to me). Anyhow, we were all showing our items off to get our marks when the others held up a sandal.... sandal ~ we didn’t see that one...Lucy read it as scandal :D))  our next challenge was to act out a scene  from a film that the others had to guess. 15 minutes to prep. I think we were all going to do titanic but Mr C said if you all do the same...like titanic then there would be less points :-)) we did the yellow brick road from The Wizard of Oz. Yellow uno cards for the road, Lucy put her hair in bunches and chucked Fleur (rabbit) into a basket whilst I wore a saucepan on my head (tin man) and stuffed the rabbits hay up for sleeves for the scarecrow. Very funny! Sim & Natalie did E.T, Bex & Mo Bohemian Rhapsody  and Josh & Natalie did Top Gun. All scores were close but Josh & Natalie did win which meant we also got points that brought us up to second from last place.  It was fun and different thing to do but we had to spend a good few minutes tidying up once we were finished. Putting the books and everything else away from the scavenger hunt and hoovering up all the hay dropped over the carpet.
