All our Yesterdays!
This was in the mid eighties. My mate Pete and I spent a few days in the Cairngorms ski touring and snow and ice climbing. We dug a decent sized snow hole/cave and used this as our base at about 1000 metres.
The snow hole needed to be big enough for two plus our kit so we dug two adjacent entrances and tunnelled through, then filled one entrance in with blocks of snow. We used our rucksacks to block the entrance at night.
The extras show the progress.
These were amazing times, and great comradeship.
