2015-11-21 (Day 324) First Snow Of The Season

I know that I have taken photos from this spot before, but the view from the Wallace Stone always inspires me, the more so as we start to see the first snows of the season dusting the Ochil Hills.

Near the centre of the picture, the highest peak is that of Ben Cleuch, rising 721m above sea level and towering above the Hillfoots town of Tillicoultry.

Coming towards the camera the next major thing is the River Forth. Still tidal at this pint, it is crossed by two bridges - the 1936 Kincardine Bridge and the much newer Clackmannanshire Bridge.

From this range the Kelpies (left hand side of the pictrue) seem to be watching over the river as they guard the entranceway to the Union Canal.

Closer still, the blue warehouses of the Malcolm Group compete for space with an Asda distribution centre, both place for easy access to the M9 motorway.

Closer still are the Braes villages of Westquarter, Reddingmuirhead, Shieldhill, Redding and Wallacestone itself, all of which send their kids to the Braes High School, the long yellow-ish building in the centre of the picture.

That's the first snow of the season, I can't imagine it will be the last!
