2015-12-07 (Day 341) Arria
Before there were the Kelpies, there was Arria.
Andy Scott's statue towers over the M80 motorway at Cumbernauld. She stands tall and strong, holding in her hands the end of the train of her dress. Apparently the gentle curves of the fabric represent a flowing riverl the Gaelic name for Cumbernauld means the "the meeting of the waters"
Okay, this photo doesn't do her justice. From the side she is feminine, powerful, beautiful and elegant. But I fear that from straight on, illuminated only by internal light... well, the photographer perhaps failed to show her beauty.
Arria, I shall return and right this wrong!
