2016-04-09 (Day 100) Castle Hill

This is Stirling Castle, taken from the road just north of Bridge Of Allan - so in fact we are looking pretty much due south here.

The castle is built on a huge rock called - unsurprisingly - Castle Hill.

What you don't see from this is how flat much of the surrounding area is - Castle Hill dominates a surprisingly flat area of land (flat until you get to the Ochils, which rise startlingly quickly from the floor of the Forth Valley).

It was dry where I was standing, but I reckon it was raiing over the castle!
