Royal Lancastrian Pottery.

This is one of a pair of. Royal Lancastrian vases, which my father won in a summer sports da y Crown Bolls match at Chloride Batteries where he was employed. Pilkinton's Pottery works was 'next door'. It must have been in about 1937 or 8, because I wasn't old enough to appreciate it and it was kept where I couldn't touch it. The significant thing about this orange glaze is that it is mildly radioactive. ( I have heard it demonstrated with a Geiger counter !
