Lacking Calories

My Dear Princess, Loulou and Dear Fellows,

I have started a diet. I was actually ON one, about this time last year and doing really well. I remember Lemon telling me she could really tell the difference. 

But then of course, lockdown happened. And even though I've been back at work since October, it's only for 2 or 3 days a week. Not that I'm complaining.

And the problem with being in the house is that I'm in the house WITH FOOD. I know exactly where it is because I bought it. And there it sits. Food. In the house. With ME. 

So clothes have stopped fitting and I need to wear a bra. 

Consequently, I've put myself onto the OptiFast diet. This is not the sort of thing I normally do. Caro used to do it. It's where you get essentially 1 (healthy) meal a day, and the other 2 are specially formulated shakes, soups and bars. 

It's not so bad. 

The theory is that it will help me get to my ideal weight sooner, and then I can switch back to regular (healthy) meals. So far it seems to be working. If all goes according to plan, I'll be back to eating normally by June. 

The problem is that we are currently watching a tv show called "Alone" where people get dumped in the middle of nowhere and have to survive. So really all these people talk about is FOOD. 

"I'm so HUNGRY, I gotta get some CALORIES," some random bloke sitting in a tent with a big beard will say. 

And as the show goes on they get worse. The same bloke will appear a week or so later. "I'M SOOOOO HUNGREEEEE!! The fish have GONE!" 

And then he'll eat a slug*.

So food is uppermost in my mind at the moment. But don't worry, little hedgehog. You can have that last slug.

* NOT making this up. Other things they have eaten include, ants, crickets, bark, leeches, rabbit intestines and a moose.
