This is the Volkswagen XL1, a prototype fuel-efficient car. It is a plug-in hybrid, which can go 50km on battery and then reverts to petrol where it returns 313mpg.

The limited-edition vehicle was on display at the Volkswagen dealership in Stirling today.

I wonder if there is space for golf clubs in the back?
