2018-03-30 (Day 089) Bastion and Thieves' Pot

The Thistle Centre - a shopping centre in Stirling - is built on the old town wall. One part of the centre is where there used to be a defensive tower - a bastion. And below that tower is the Thieve's Pot, a bottle dungeon into which thieves were cast.

With no way out, the thieves would struggle to survive on little or no food, crammed in alongside other criminals at the bottom of the dungeon (the entrance to which is now covered over by the glass panel you can see in the floor)

This exhibition is free to enter within The Thistles.
Some claim that the shops in the centre are haunted...
