Stepping Out
After Time to Grow on Zoom - always so good - we both decided to go do outdoor jobs. Mike cut twenty plus fence posts from the olive prunings and strimmed where he wants to put a fence to protect our trees when Vizinho's sheep come down here, plus clearing out the prunings from that area. We'll be dealing with olive prunings for quite a while yet...
I made a path from our pavement to the garden, which I've wanted to do for ages. Selected slabs from the stack of schist left here, brought in wheelbarrow, laid out, and then hacked out a hole for each, basically digging up stones that we carted here to make a flattish patio in front of the house. Stones in a bucket to take to road, any grass laid aside to replant. Mike brought me some wet sand that I filled the holes with and then stomped in the slabs, raked any soil flat, replanted the grass, and sowed grass seed on all the bare earth. Will hopefully look good before long...
Yesterday Portugal voted for its President, sad to say that the far right Populist guy won in Mourão, not hard to understand why, no time to write clearly now, but wanted to at least mark the day. More here.
Gratefuls:
- getting to do a physical job instead of a computer one, for once
- Zion getting to see two helicopters in Rectory Park!!
- men in the family dancing with brooms
