Nothing mono

about this mon(o)day!  Technicolour in all its glory ... the sun was shining and there was snow on the ground ... the perfect combo.  The birds were busy on one side of the house but I had noticed that over the past few days there have been very few visitors on the other side.. despite there being multiple feeders.  When I checked the feeders I found all the nuts had gone black and mouldy.. I have never seen that happen before so I emptied out all the contents, washed the feeders and refilled with fresh nuts.. I wonder if tomorrow will see more birds appearing.  
Lovely walk with a dog that couldn't stop rolling in the snow.. between bouts of scooting about... I am adding the photo of Flossie in full roll mode as an extra
