Money saving tips
I was looking on the forums about equipment (who doesn't?) and I saw a thread about camera straps. Ages ago I saw a professional wedding photographer with a strap across his body to carry his camera. I was very impressed.
I looked on the internet and there are carry straps and systems which seemed to be around $80. Sooooo....
I took a disused belt off a cheap pair of jeans (the jeans were fine, the belt was rubbish). It's a cotton webbing belt with two "D" rings to fasten. I took a hook and swivel off the strap of my defunct camera bag (any strong bag strap will do) and slipped it onto the belt.
My quick release shoe has a bolt with a D ring through it. I hook it all up and that's it. It stays near my hip. It's dead easy to adjust the belt. The camera slides up the belt in a flash to take a photo and it's quick release. Total cost £0.
I don't particularly like the look of the belt - so I am going to replace it with a nice crisp black webbing belt £1.69. I'm the last of the big time spenders me!
I now know there are straps for around £10 so maybe that's another solution.
