BirdDay

It's been quite a day for birds around these parts, so much so that I was spoilt for choice.
This is a list of the ones I saw:
Male and female bower birds, king parrots, rosellas of all kinds, wonga pigeons, channel billed cuckoo, black cockatoos, magpies, currawongs and one kooka.
Michael has a much better camera and lens than mine, so will have some real stonkers.

I settled on this male gang gang, one of a family group, stuffing themselves full of hawthorn berries.
I've added an extra of the female, not so flashy, but still very beautiful, and a macro for Tiny Tuesday, of a  female bower bird feather on top of a king parrot feather.
It was a hot one today, but not as hot as Sydney, where the temps hovered around 40', making it the hottest place in the state.

Oh, and it was Australia Day, and, as happens increasingly, it was the subject of debates and protests.
