2018-08-25 (Day 237) Almond Viaduct
These are twenty-two of the thirty-two arches that make up the main span of the Almond Viaduct, near Kirkliston.
This bridge was opened in 1842 and is still critical to Scotland's Glasgow-Edinburgh railway line - a construction of beauty as well as long life and utility.
The line has recently been electrified, and the gantries to carry the power lines have been somewhat crudely bolted onto this beautiful structure. I guess that that's the price of being part of a working railway.
Oh yes, it's near Edinburgh Airport.
