It feels somehow exciting waking up after a snowy night to find tree trunks plastered with snow on one side. I like the added texture on the bark where the snow is partially stuck as it wraps around toward the leeward side.

Although snowing was not still falling, the light today was kind of misty and taking this shot from a distance emphasized the effect. I found an elevated position where I could place the trunk against the plain white of the snow covered lake to avoid any distractions.
