The Answer Is..Opera?

Had my first virtusl singing lesson from an Opera Singer currently with "Opera North" a Leeds based national touring company.

..well me and over a hundred others!

It was the initial fortnightly meeting for people who live with pain, and was arranged in partnership with the Hebden Bridge based Footsteps virtual group that I recently joined. 

The session was absolutely perfect! Audio (muted during the main session) and group chat made it very friendly and interactive. Then a series of gentle exercises incorporating pulling funny faces and making hand and dance gestures. Some fun scale type exercises followed, and finished with singing "Glen Millers" hit "In the Mood"

We constantly repeated the first line which includes singing my surname, which made me chuckle and comment. Very good of them to make me feel extra welcome!

Just checked the real lyrics to the song..we sung completely different words, written for the group. Screen shot evidence available!

My son had his 3rd virtual University interview today. He also recieved a lovely postcard from his economics teacher, who commended him on his work and in particular thanked him for being one of the only pupils to contribute verbally to the virtual lessons conducted with cameras switched off. Thankfully cameras to be switched on soon, following parental consent.
