Indoor Blip: Spectral Spiral

Twistier in large

I just photographed the music gear that I was playing this morning... The Medusa is mostly B&W (although its LEDs are quite a blue-green white), but I'm always intrigued by the colours that the macro lens can generate in the fine detail (as a form of chromatic aberration rather than colours found on the object).
This knob controls Frequency Modulation ("FM") of either the first two analogue oscillators ("Osc 1 + 2") or the filter ("Filter") by the third analogue oscillator ("Osc 3"), which generates all sorts of harmonic craziness from simple waveforms, so it seems somewhat apt that the lens should distort things around it. Also, the curved semicircular line that frames the knob is actually a series of dots, rendered as a chain of interlocking rings (or a slinky?) as bokeh.

Others here (or right from Thyme tape delay)
