Life's tangled skein

2019-02-03 (Day 034) Falkirk Ultra Marathon

If I ever describe myself as a runner, I feel uncomfortable that I am making extravagant claims for myself. Today's event in Callander Park, Falkirk, confirmed that viewpoint to me.

These guys are running round the park on a 4.5mile loop for EIGHT HOURS! Eight freakin' hours! It took me half a lifetime to run for four hours, and I was a wreck after it.

The place was busy too, with a village of tents at the start/finish point providing support for the runners, and hundreds of runners spread evenly throughout the route.

It was a cold day, with half the loch still frozen. How you run for eight hours in that, I just do not know.
I take my hat off to them all.
