Cornucopia
This evening, I went to a wonderful dinner at Nar Locanta, an Anatolian restaurant committed to locally sourced ingredients and beautiful presentation. The dinner was sponsored by the American Research Institute of Turkey. The wine flowed freely, and the four course meal was wonderful. Mezes - assorted Turkish appetizers with names such as the imam fainted and ladie's thighs - were followed by two bulgher coated, cumin flavoured meatballs, then lamb shanks simmered til the meat fell from the bones. Dessert was a warm, crispy filo triangle stuffed with chopped pistachios and honey, in a pool of raspberry coulis and topped with Turkish ice cream. This photo honours the quality of their ingredients.
