Catching up? (Mostly for me.)

You might be able to see at least one side, if not both, of the space where my mate Bill removed the steps; seen from "without".
At some point in the life of the "Box Boxes" I mentioned the necessity of transplanting two of the boxes.
The extra is a steam age photo which is the only one I've ever seen showing (more or less) where the steps were as they were still there when it was taken.
There's an upturned, square chimney pot, on the top step, at either side with conifers in.
NOT a ruddy clue what became of them.
The dark blobs either side of the steps are the two boxes which were eventually grown, and trimmed, to conical shape and had to be scalped to match the other Box boxes.  Any wonder one gave up the ghost?
