Oops!...I Did it Again

Another grey day with nothing to do. I did some weight training in the morning and we braved the drizzle to go for a short walk this afternoon.
It was only when we were nearly home that the question of who had the keys arose. I knew I hadn’t got them and I was fairly certain I’d not locked up because I was busy setting the Strava app to start recording. Mrs C was equally adamant that she had not locked up, thinking I was going to do it. A thorough search of all her pockets revealed that she was not in possession of the house keys either.
Without unnecessarily panicking, we did pick up the pace slightly. Rounding the corner to the cul-de-sac, I was pleased to see the boot of my car just sticking out behind the house. If someone had been in the house they had missed the rather obvious tin where the car keys are kept.
Arriving home, we were greeted by this sight. To add insult to injury, the door was not even locked!
As nothing was missing I decided there was no point in apportioning blame. But it was down to Mrs C. This time anyway. I’m afraid our (my!) track record in going out and leaving the keys in the lock on the outside of the door is not good. I seem to recall us going to work one day several years ago and returning home many hours later. As the car turned on to the drive, we could clearly see the keys in the glare of the headlights!
We are very lucky to live in an area where this sort of mistake does not result in the house being emptied whilst you are out. Either that, or we’ve got nowt worth nicking!!
