Not a tap

Got given permission to go fishing this afternoon so with 12 deg C and the forecast of sunny intervals I took my sandwich and a flask off to the lake.
The sun did put in an appearance about 2.30 and it was not that cold.
However the bite detector stayed in the same spot all afternoon and the bleeper was totally silent.
Never mind, I got an afternoon outside, saw four geese , a kestrel and a kite. A flock of redwings flew over and a midge investigated the pork luncheon meat.
