An ordinary life....

By Damnonii

Bye bye bed...

And so last night was the last night in our bed (seems like only minutes ago it was the first night!

I am so sad to be losing the bed frame as I love it (and it matches the rest of our bedroom furniture) but when the time came to replace the mattress, we realised the best nights sleep we've had in the few years have been when we're on holiday and sleeping in zip&link beds which together, make super king size.

We replaced the bed in our small guest bedroom with a zip and link bed two years ago and everyone who sleeps on it, raves about it so that's what we're replacing this bed with.

David managed to get it dismantled without too much hassle and the component parts wrapped in bubble wrap ready to go to their new home once we are able to travel again.  Until then they will have to wait in the garage.

New bed arriving tomorrow.  I will be up at the crack of dawn as the delivery is scheduled between 7am and 1pm.  Depending on how well I sleep tonight I may be in the new bed within 5 minutes of the delivery men leaving!

More good news today :-)). My niece Jen was interviewed by UWS this afternoon for a place on their Post Grad teaching course.  She was the first one of the group to be interviewed (she was glad about that as she preferred to get it out the way.)  They told her that candidates would find out in March if they had been successful.  She got the shock of her life when they contacted her after the interviews had ended and offered her a place!  She's over the moon.  She's got an interview with Glasgow Uni on Monday and is also waiting to hear from Strathclyde Uni.

She doesn't have to confirm her place with UWS until any other interviews she has are over with and offers made, but at least she knows that whatever happens re. her other applications, she has a place.  I am over the moon for her.  She has such an affinity with children.  She will be an amazing teacher.

It's so lovely to get some happy news for a change!
