Scarlet elf cap
I have had such a lovely day today!
I met Kathryn at the coffee shop and we took our coffee with us for a safely distanced bemasked walk in the woods. She was keeping me so safe I couldn't hear what she said half of the time. We didn't meet anybody at all. I did spot this lovely little elf cap though, the very fresh earth star in the inset and a very healthy looking fox who stared me out from bout 5 yards awaywhile I got my phone out to take a picture - then ran off before I could actually take one.
After I got home I videoed my bible readings for church next Sunday and then my presentation for the Webinar on the 13th, just in case I'm not well enough to do it in person. I got them both sent off which was a great relief. I then found an email from our Rector asking me to do the prayers for Sunday too. I changed my jumper so it wasn't so obvious they were done the same day and recorded and sent those off too.
I was engrossed in our Zoom evening prayer this evening when there was a gentle tap on the window beside me, and there was Eilidh. I haven't seen her for almost 3 weeks so I excused myself and rushed through to the kitchen to say hallo. She and Kathryn were dropping off some shopping. What a lovely surprise.
The good news is that the government have realised that 9-3.15 school cover doesn't really help working parents very much as their hours are far longer. Some money has been found to support out of school providers and so she will have after school care after half term. What a relief.
This evening we've had a couple of cheery long phone calls and then settled down to watch 8 out of 10 cats do Countdown. It was an old one, but I don't think we've laughed so much for a very long time! A good laugh does you so much good.
Keep well and safe everybody, more good news about vaccines. Hooray.
